About Us

Our 10th Anniversary is coming up! Come celebrate during Bike Week.
Bike Again 10th Anniversary Celebration & Open House, Saturday the 29th of May at the Bloomfield Centre.

Open hours are weekly Mondays & Wednesdays 5:30pm to 9pm

Women and Trans bike repair night 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month 6-8 p.m. The night is open to women and trans identified folks.

Bloomfield Center, 2786 Agricola St Halifax, look for the yellow painted door!

We began in the summer of 2000 and through thousands of volunteer hours, we have repaired and loaned over 1000 bikes.

Our main goals are to get more people on bikes (less traffic!), provide a place for people to bring bikes they no longer use, and to act as a resource for the cycling community in Halifax Regional Municipality.

The project encourages a sense of ownership and responsibility by engaging bike recipients in learning to fix and maintain their chosen rides. Many people become dedicated volunteers or participate in our group or critical mass bike rides.

We provide a common ground for people of different ethnic backgrounds and socio-economic status to participate in something fun and rewarding.

Get Involved!

Bike Again! Community Project is a completely volunteer run organization and relies on small funding grants and donations from the community.

Donations can be in the form of bikes and bike parts, tools and supplies, food, and yes we do accept monetary donations which we will provide a receipt for income tax purposes.

So, instead of selling your bike to a used bike store or putting it curbside, where it will eventually end up in a landfill, why don't you donate the bike to a local, community based organization trying to make a difference.

We have had over 10,000 volunteer hours donated to help us repair bikes and to help others learn how to repair their own. We strongly encourage people who use our services to volunteer to help others.

The Women and Trans bike repair collective is a group of folks who are
establishing a women and trans bike repair night at Bike Again. We are
looking to create a space that is women and trans positive and a
non-intimidating to learn about and work on your bike. It is a space to
explore bike mechanics and learn from other members, as well as a space to
access tools and supplies to fix your bike. Drop-in is free all women and
trans identified folks welcome.

Held at Bike Again at the Bloomfield Centre

Winter Hours:

The 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month
6-8 p.m.

We are always looking for new volunteers, no bike mechanic skills necessary.
We are also always looking for women and trans folk interested in sharing
their bike repair skills. Get in touch at
women.trans.bikerepair@gmail.comor stop by and say hello!
